Workshop places are free for festival ticket holders, but spaces are limited, so please add your name to the lists at the festival or arrive in good time to secure a spot.
- Non-ticket holders can attend for a £10 fee.
- Wristbands will be checked on entry.
- Workshops take place in the peedie marquee or Burray Hall.

Bluegrass jamming etiquette with Jeri Foreman
Start the weekend with practical tips on joining a bluegrass jam. Learn the do’s and don’ts that help everyone enjoy the experience. Includes some jamming.

Bluegrass guitar with Jakub Racek
Jakub Racek, an internationally acclaimed Czech guitarist and educator, is a fivetime winner of Czechia’s Bluegrass Guitarist of the Year and SPGMA’s Best European Bluegrass Guitarist. With extensive touring across Europe and the US and years of teaching at major workshops, Jakub brings deep expertise to this session.

Banjo workshop with Lluis Gomez
Explore backup techniques, improvisation and Lluis’ personal approach to Flamenco influenced banjo. He begins by finding out what participants want to learn, shaping the session around their interests. Expect fresh ideas rooted in bluegrass tradition.

Fiddle styles: Scots trad vs Bluegrass with Jeri Foreman
Originally from Adelaide and now based in Scotland, Jeri Foreman has spent months travelling through Europe and North America studying fiddle traditions. This workshop looks at the similarities and differences between Scots and bluegrass styles.

Traditional Canadian music on the banjo with Timothy Loten
Timothy Loten, known for his work with Montreal’s Crooked Creek and his duo with Emma Houlahan, will explore how to approach traditional Canadian music on the 5string banjo.

Harmony Singing with Jean-Baptiste Cardineau
Franco/American mandolinist, singer and songwriter Jean-Baptiste Cardineau draws on early musical styles to shape his distinctive sound. In this workshop he’ll introduce the practice and principles of bluegrass harmony singing.
