The Orkney Bluegrass Jam was inspired by time spent at Sore Fingers Summer School, with the group meeting up to sing and play music together since summer 2023.
Meeting up in Kirkwall’s Life Centre, monthly jams are relaxed affairs with plenty of tea, biscuits, music and chuckles. The jam is welcoming of everyone and all instruments that want to join in. The Bluegrass Jam are comprised of friendly, local bluegrass enthusiasts and the bluegrass curious who love to explore the traditional songs and tunes of the genre. As regular contributors to local sessions and music events, they look forward to sharing the joys of Bluegrass with you at the Water Sound Festival this year.
