The Driftwood Cowboys wander Orkney’s shorelines, picking up musical flotsam from around the world and making something uniquely Orcadian out of it: swinging songs of shopping week queens, rare breed sheep and the passionate love of neeps.
Their individual histories weave in and out of notable Orcadian groups, from the Smoking Stone Band to The Tribe to the Lone Star Swing Band. Their press cuttings and passport stamps attest to storming appearances in venues from Austin and Chicago, Torshavn and Pierowall. Between them, Duncan, Iain, Brian and Douglas have a hundred years of experience, but still sound like they’re making it up as they go along.
