Stoatfinger

Stoatfinger is an Orkney based trio peddling an infectious mix of roots and Americana flavoured music.

Stalwart Orcadian musicians James Groat (mandolin and banjo) and Dan Rhodes (guitar and bass) are joined by Antony Hodgson (guitar and fiddle), a veteran of the Sussex folk/Americana scene. All three take on singing duties in the band and their dramatic three-part harmonies are a distinctive feature of the Stoatfinger sound.

They play a mixture of offbeat covers and highly praised original material – some of which has been adopted by other bands. The Stoatfinger boys love to play amplified stage gigs, but they are equally at home leading songs and tunes in lively bar sessions, which they do regularly across Orkney.

They have defied genre stereotyping by performing at Orkney’s Blues Festival, Rock Festival and Folk Festival. They are looking forward to adding Water Sound Festival to this list.
